NC DMF Fishery Management Plans From the Start

Recipe

In 1997, the Fisheries Reform Act was passed in North Carolina. This Act requires the NC Division of Marine Fisheries to "prepare Fishery Management Plans (FMPs) recreationally and commercially significant species that make up North Carolina's marine and estuarine resources." It is DMF's goal to ensure the longevity of the significant species for all citizens of NC. These species include: spotted trout, striped mullet and kingfish.
