NC Catch Chef Ambassador Becky Rose is the Owner and Chef of Blackbeard’s Grill and Steambar in Beaufort, NC.  

Becky is a lifelong steward of North Carolina seafood with over 30 years of hands-on experience in the industry. A commercial fisherwoman, Becky grew up immersed in her family’s fish markets (Rose Seafood also in Beaufort), and restaurant in Carteret County, where traditional coastal cooking wasn’t just a way of life—it was a legacy.

Her deep knowledge of North Carolina seafood, from dock to dish, is matched by a passion for preserving the culture and livelihoods of the state’s fishing communities. Drawing on culinary inspiration from traveling the coasts of the U.S., Becky combines authentic Carteret County flavors with fresh ideas, always staying true to what makes North Carolina seafood special.

Becky loves working with the versatility of NC’s Green tail shrimp.  A customer favorite at Blackbeards is a bite-sized yellowfin tuna and green tail shrimp mixed grill—lightly blackened and served over dirty rice with fried okra and topped with green onions and chipotle aioli.
